More details have emerged on scrapped plans for Grado’s surprise appearance at AEW All In London at Wembley Stadium.
The Scottish star accompanied Paul Wight and Anthony Ogogo to the ring during the August 27 Zero Hour pre-show to confront Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal and Satnam Singh.
Speculation grew about Grado potentially appearing on the Wembley Stadium show after Jeff Jarrett hit Grado with a guitar in a TalkSPORT interview in July.
Speaking on his My World podcast, Jeff Jarrett noted that while a singles match between himself and Grado was never on the cards for All In, there had been discussions about a six, eight or ten man tag-team bout featuring the non-AEW talent.
Commenting on the surprise appearance segment, Jarrett said:
“The promotional stunt that took place, there was no master plan of where this was going to go or where that was going to.
“I have to give Tom Campbell of Cultaholic, he got word that Jarrett-Grado….I can assure listeners this, a Jarrett-Grado singles match, I don’t believe was ever discussed.
“He is not on the AEW roster. He may have been in the corner, maybe a six-man, at one time there was an eight-man, at one time there was a ten-man discussion, all kinds of different things.
“At the end of the day, a lot of chatter that went on with it. Ol’ Tom led the charge, and he went heavy with it. The amount of social media buzz that took place the seven days beforehand, my gosh.
“When Grado’s video wall popped up, what a roar. It was a big pop. Great moment.”
Grado previously revealed how late he received the call to be at All In, which you can read more about right here.
Since his return at All In, Anthony Ogogo has teased a championship run with the company.
