Kairi Sane defeated Shayna Baszler at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV to become the new NXT Women’s Champion.
The replay of the inaugural Mae Young Classic final lived up to expectations as both women gave their soul for the gold, but in the end, it was the plucky Japanese sensation who came out on top, reversing a Kirifuda Clutch into a pinfall.

It is now widely believed that Baszler will make her main roster debut imminently, joining Ronda Rousey on Raw. Make no mistake about it, she is more than ready. WWE are planning a Four Horsewoman vs. Four Horsewoman match for Survivor Series, though the hype for such a bout is expected to begin at WWE Evolution on October 28.
It is unknown where the NXT Women’s Division goes from here, though Kairi Sane vs. Bianca Belair for the strap is a certainty in the near future.
