NXT will be holding another Breakout Tournament starting on the July 13 episode.
Twitter user and Capitol Wrestling Center attendee Jacob Cohen posted a series of tweets today, revealing the start of the tournament before WWE had made an official announcement.
One of his tweets stated that the tournament would begin on the July 13 episode of NXT. The same tweet said the matches being taped for 205Live today were qualifying matches for the tournament.
He also tweeted that one of the matches on 205Live was Guru Raaj vs. Andre Chase. Chase has been better known to independent wrestling fans as Harlem Bravado. It was not said who won the match.
Another match to take place has been Joe Gacy vs. Desmond Troy.
NXT last held its Breakout Tournament in 2019. Jordan Myles (ACH), Cameron Grimes, Dexter Lumis, Joaquin Wilde, Bronson Reed, Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott, Angel Garza, and Boa made up the 2019 lineup. Myles ultimately won, defeating Grimes in the final.
UPDATE: This has since been confirmed on tonight’s episode of NXT.
