Tommy Dreamer has praised the presentation of Oba Femi on WWE Raw following a loss to Brock Lesnar at Clash In Italy the night prior.

A rematch from WrestleMania 42, Oba Femi was unable to repeat the victory he scored over Brock Lesnar at WWE Clash in Italy on May 31, leaving the pair at 1-1.

The loss was a rare occasion for the dominant star, who returned to his winning ways on last night’s WWE Raw, advancing in the King of the Ring Tournament, pinning Solo Sikoa in a match that also featured Carmello Hayes and Penta.

Femi would take to the mic, noting that he was both standing tall and still winning, despite the loss at Clash in Italy, reminding Lesnar that they currently stand at a draw and promising to see the veteran star again “down the line”.

On Busted Open After Dark, Tommy Dreamer would praise the way that Femi was presented after Clash in Italy, comparing his entrance on WWE Raw to the promo the star cut afterwards, saying:

“The fire was brought back into Oba. His promo had intensity which lacked in his entrance.

“Oba did not have that confidence in his strut tonight. Oba looked like he was a man who lost, and I was so like ‘No, please don’t tell me you’re de-pushing this guy!’

“Then, working with Solo, Penta, and Carmelo Hayes – three freaking amazing professional wrestlers – they all went there and did their job and got Oba back to that where Oba should be.

“Then, his intensity and what makes Oba special came about in the ring through his work.

“Oba came back from a loss with a dominant, dominant performance.”

Oba Femi has now qualified for the King of the Ring semi-finals, with his opponent to be decided from the four-way match taking place on SmackDown, featuring Dominik Mysterio, Bron Breakker, Trick Williams, and Damian Priest.

Take The L, Then Raise Hell

The first loss in Oba Femi’s main roster career, and it’s to Brock Lesnar on a WWE Premium Live Event. That’s something of note within itself, particular with previous reports noting that the Beast Incarnate is potentially retiring this year.

For a moment, it seemed like the retirement was taking place at WrestleMania 42 back in April, with Lesnar removing his boots and gloves, leaving them in the ring, following his loss to Femi, although that’s clearly not the case with the recent match at Clash In Italy leading to win and teeing up a potential rematch down the line.

Femi may have suffered the loss, but last night’s WWE Raw match showcased a fundamental in storytelling, a loss rarely defines the character. While we could have seen a losing streak for Femi, the comeback, particularly ahead of Night of Champions on June 27, could see the star as an unstoppable entity.

A two-time NXT Champion, it’s highly likely that, coming out of the feud with Lesnar, Femi will seek a main roster championship, King of the Ring potentially being a springboard to that moment.
