The latest update has emerged on the WWE roster status of Oba Femi following his recent call-up to the main roster from NXT.
After vacating the NXT Championship a few weeks ago, Femi has been appearing on both Raw and SmackDown as a ‘free agent,’ with the idea being that both shows are trying to sign him.
Which WWE Brand Will Oba Femi Join – Raw Or SmackDown?
In an interview with No-Contest Wrestling, Femi has provided an update, noting that he hasn’t made his decision yet, but might be leaning to Raw just so he can beat “old man” Rusev.
He said:
“We’re still trying to leverage ourselves a better contract. We’re always trying to do that.
“But right now, we need incentives to go. Like the other day, Rusev came up to me, he was eyeing me.
“I’m like, ‘Okay you old man, I’ll put you out of your misery, don’t worry, you’ll get your turn.’
“And if it gets to that level, because of Rusev, just because of Rusev, I just might go Raw.”

Oba Femi is set to face The Miz on this coming Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown after defeating Kit Wilson last week.
Oba Femi Responds To Fan Support
Oba Femi also commented on the support he’s been getting since joining the main roster, pointing to it as proof that the NXT system works.
He said:
“All the fan support that I’m getting right now, it’s not because of what I did on the main roster. There’s a whole other two years of NXT that happened. That body of work was really good.
“I was able to take that dominance and bring that to the main roster. It just speaks to everything I’ve done. Shows that the system works. NXT works, guys. NXT works.”
