Original Planned January 31 Raw Main Event Revealed

WWE announced the five men who will face WWE Champion Bobby Lashley inside the Elimination Chamber during last week’s (January 31) episode of Raw, which saw Austin Theory, Riddle and AJ Styles earn their place in the match, with Rollins and Lesnar being announced too.

However, per Fightful Select (subscription required), the original main event and way to determine the Chamber participants was much different, and much more bizarre.

Fightful notes that the original plan was a five-way between Rollins, Styles, Theory, Kevin Owens and Damian Priest, with the person taking the pin missing out on the Chamber match.

Why would anyone try to win that match? Why would you break up pins in that match? Oh well, it never happened so we don’t have to worry.

Raw went through other late changes last week, as originally Montez Ford was set to take on Dolph Ziggler, before somebody alerted the creative team that Angelo Dawkins was from Cincinnati, and he was used instead.
