On last night’s (July 19) episode of Monday Night Raw, it was officially announced after months of speculation that Roman Reigns will defend the Universal Championship at SummerSlam against John Cena.
Cena spoke on Reigns to open last night’s show, where he made the challenge and said he looks forward to seeing Reigns on Friday.
Reigns’ ‘special counsel’ Paul Heyman responded to a tweet from the USA Network’s account, teasing that Reigns will have more than just words in store for Cena.
As #SpecialCounsel to the #TribalChief @WWERomanReigns, I invite your network to watch this Friday for our perspective on @JohnCena’s actions, words … Hmmmmmmm…… and perhaps, just PERHAPS, more?
It was reported after Cena’s return at Money In The Bank that he would be acting as a free agent and appearing on both Raw and SmackDown shows.
