Former AEW World Champion CM Punk has been spotted with an AEW star amid speculation and uncertainty surrounding his current status.
On May 28, AEW held one of its biggest shows of the year, Double or Nothing 2023.
One of the matches on the show saw Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews and Brody King defeat Max Caster, Anthony Bowens and Billy Gunn to retain the AEW Trios Championship.
Brody King has now taken to Twitter to share a photo with CM Punk, which can be seen below.
He captioned the post:
From the PPV to the Punk show.
While previous reports indicated that CM Punk would be the face of the new Collision brand, when the new show was announced on May 17, he was absent from all marketing material.
With the debut episode set to air from the United Center in Chicago on June 17, it has since been reported that the belief is that Punk will return on this episode.
AEW and Punk hit a snag reportedly over the status of Ace Steel in the company, which led to the announcement of the show’s location being held off a week later than the rest of Collision’s dates.
Punk was originally set to be involved on all the advertising for Collision when it was first announced, but his relationship with AEW hit a snag over the status of Ace Steel right before.
However, with Chicago hosting the debut episode, it looks like things are back on track.
Brody King and the rest of House of Black were notably featured on the original poster for AEW Collision.
Details on initial ticket sale figures for the debut episode of Collision can be found right here.
