Possible Reason For Poor Survivor Series Main Event Revealed

At the Survivor Series pay-per-view, NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler defeated Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley in the show’s main event.

While it was great to see Baszler go over in a big match, the match did not really connect all that well with the fans in attendance. Reports have even emerged suggesting that Vince McMahon was furious with the match.

A possible reason for the poor match quality might have just been revealed, and it could be down to communication issues.

Fightful Select is reporting that the backstage producers working on the match struggled to communicate with the three wrestlers in the ring about how the match should go down:

“Adam Pearce and Sarah Stock produced the WWE Survivor Series main event match between Becky Lynch, Shayna Baszler, Bayley match. We’re told that there was a struggle to communicate from backstage to what was going on in the ring, but weren’t told if that had to do with some kind of equipment malfunction or otherwise”.

The match was designed to put over Shayna Baszler in a big way ahead of a potential full-time main roster call-up to Raw or SmackDown in the coming months.

It is not believed that the lacklustre match has had any impact on how Vince McMahon and other WWE higher-ups view Baszler backstage.
