Randy Orton Discusses LA Knight’s Meteoric Rise In WWE WWE

The Legend Killer Randy Orton has shared his thoughts on the meteoric rise of LA Knight in WWE, calling him: “one of a kind”.

Despite vying for the same goal in WWE: to take down the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns, Randy Orton has nothing but “high hopes” for LA Knight’s future prospects in the company.

Speaking in an interview with WWE’s Kayla Braxton on The Bump, The Viper weighed in on Knight’s ascent from an unknown in the eyes of the WWE audience, to one of the company’s hottest stars.

Asked what he thinks of Knight’s rise through the ranks, Orton answered:

“Too early to tell. But, I have high hopes. I would love to see him happy and do whatever his goals are. I’d love to see him fulfill those goals, as long as they don’t get in my way. I’m fine with him doing his thing.”

Orton then shared what he thinks separates Knight from other stars in the past who have gained traction on the back of fan support:

“I’ve seen so many guys come up, get hot, and then putter out. And I’m not saying that’s him. As a matter of fact, he’s one of a kind. He’s got something different.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen the fans just take to somebody that they didn’t really know so quickly.

“You’ve seen it before with guys like Kofi Kingston – they knew who these guys were for 10 years, then all of a sudden, there was this massive surge in fan following.

“LA Knight kinda went from zero to hero, (click fingers) like that, so that’s interesting.

“I’m curious to see how strong the crowd chants for him, how long that lasts, but even more so, how he chooses to evolve and keep those fans buying the t-shirts and chanting the catchphrases and everything like that. I think he has all the potential in the world to get that done.”

While Orton has kind words for Knight just now, it remains to be seen whether the good sentiment will still be there following the Royal Rumble.

In what looks to be Roman Reigns’ final title defence before WrestleMania 40: Knight, Orton and AJ Styles compete in a four-way for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
