Randy Orton has credited a current WWE NXT star for helping him regain his confidence ahead of his return at Survivor Series.
Randy Orton made his return after 18 months away back at Survivor Series, where he was revealed as the final member of Cody Rhodes’ War Games team.
Randy had been out of the ring with a career threatening back injury, and he has now detailed his road to recovery, and training with NXT star Drew Gulak.
Speaking with the New York Post, he said:
“I did my first RKO in late August and if it wasn’t for Drew [Gulak] I wouldn’t have gotten that little bit of confidence back. It was until like January where I really started to feel like ‘OK. I got my wheels back under me. I feel like I’m in control. This is what I’m good at dammit.’ It took a second.”
“To be given that second chance was all the more important to me and motivating for me to be able to do it as long as I could and not take second for granted.”
Orton is set to be a part of the Elimination Chamber match this Saturday in Perth to determine the challenger for Seth Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40.
Orton also revealed numerous major changes he almost made to his presentation upon his return, which you can see here.
