Real Reason Major WWE Stars Missed Recent Event

Real Reason Major WWE Stars Missed Recent Event WWE

Seth Rollins has explained why he and Becky Lynch weren’t in action at the December 26 WWE house show in Columbus, Ohio.

Both Rollins and Lynch were advertised for the event, with Rollins slated to compete in the main event of the show.

Instead, Austin Theory defended his US Title against Damian Priest and Johnny Gargano in a steel cage bout, with Priest replacing Rollins in the match.

There was some concern that Rollins and Lynch could have suffered injuries, or could have been pulled from the live event as precautions.

Rollins has revealed that this was not the case. When a Twitter user speculated that Rollins and Lynch had experienced travel issues, Rollins confirmed this, noting:

“It did. And I’m very sorry! We tried, but by the time the bus broke down on the side of the road we had no other recourse.”

Fightful Select (subscription required) also reports that other stars including Bobby Lashley and Alexa Bliss also missed the event due to travel issues.

Rollins is currently feuding with Austin Theory, after losing the US Championship to the rising star in a three-way bout at Survivor Series.

Theory will defend his gold against Rollins on the January 2 edition of WWE Raw, the first episode of 2023.

Becky Lynch last wrestled on the December 19 episode of Raw, losing to Bayley in singles action.

Rollins is reportedly factored into plans for the main event of the first night of WrestleMania 39. For more details on these plans, click here.
