Reason Why Massive WWE WrestleMania 37 Match May Not Happen

Ever since his return as a heel at SummerSlam, Roman Reigns has been playing a lot into his Samoan heritage in his matches/promos. As such, fans are hoping we see Roman Reigns collide with his cousin, The Rock, at next year’s WrestleMania.

The feud has been teased by both men in interviews since speculation emerged, leading many to believe that this is actually something WWE is considering. That is if they can get over this slight stumbling block.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer notes that a potential match between The Rock and Roman Reigns may not actually happen if Dwayne Johnson cannot get insurance to compete in the ring due to his acting career.

Meltzer has noted that this is an issue that WWE has encountered before. He is reporting that WWE has wanted to book The Rock in singles matches with Brock Lesnar and Triple H at WrestleManias in the past, but Rock hasn’t been able to get the insurance needed:

“It’s been an issue since the second Cena match,”

If WWE is unable to get The Rock in for the show, then they may put Roman Reigns in singles matches against either John Cena or The Undertaker, both of whom will reportedly be contacted about wrestling at the big show next March.
