Retribution was the talk of WWE last week, for better or worse. They unveiled themselves on Raw and revealed their new names, much to fans’ disapproval. However, many people thought this would lead to the group appearing at Clash of Champions.
The show came and went with no appearance from the faction. Now, we know why. Dave Meltzer reported on the Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast that COVID-19 was the reason why they were kept off the show. Meltzer noted that a number of the members were not cleared to compete.
WWE also kept Nikki Cross, Shayna Baszler, and Nia Jax off the show as well. It has already been reported that while at least two of them have not tested positive for the virus, they were kept off the show as a precaution. This led to Bayley’s SmackDown Women’s Championship match being against Asuka and the Women’s Tag Team Championships being taken off the show.
It should be mentioned that they will no be held off WWE programming for two weeks as they quarantine. They did mention on the Kick-Off show yesterday that the Women’s Tag Titles would be addressed on Raw.
