Last night on Raw, Drew McIntyre defeated Randy Orton to win the WWE Championship. As such, it is going to be Roman Reigns facing Drew McIntyre at Survivor Series instead of Randy Orton.
However, that wasn’t the only Survivor Series match to change on the show, as Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose were removed from the Raw team for the show and replaced by Peyton Royce and Lacey Evans.
On TV, Brooke and Rose were replaced because they were kayfabe injured by Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler in their six-woman tag team match. However, it has emerged that this angle was brought on by a real injury.
Dave Meltzer noted on the Wrestling Observer Radio that Mandy Rose suffered a real shoulder injury on last week’s show and is unable to compete. He noted that WWE didn’t want Dana Brooke in the match alone.
Bryan Alvarez was quick to point out that while the injury came after Mandy Rose was thrown outside of the ring by Nia Jax, the injury last week didn’t actually seem like it was completely Nia’s fault.
