You’ve really got to start thinking that AEW will be a competitor for WWE in years to come. Their two shows so far have both sold out in under 15 minutes, and their roster is packed with unbelievable talent.
When you add the fact that WWE is struggling to sell half of its tickets for Stomping Grounds, it makes AEW look like a real force.
It’s therefore pretty unsurprising to hear reports from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer radio that “a lot” of WWE stars have already reached out to AEW in the hope of signing once their contracts are up.
We reported last week that a number of stars are “counting the days” until their contracts with WWE expire, and given that several have already expressed a desire to leave or not renew their contracts, we really could be in for a mass exodus.
We have already seen former WWE stars Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, PAC and Tye Dillinger join AEW’s ranks, so how long will it be before we see more and more jump ship?
