Report: CM Punk ‘Believed To Be Suspended’, Injury Update AEW

A new report has revealed that CM Punk is believed to have been suspended and has an update on his injury.

At AEW All Out, CM Punk defeated Jon Moxley to regain the AEW World Championship. During the course of the bout, Punk suffered a torn left triceps on a tope.

After calling out the EVPs of Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks as well as Hangman Page and Colt Cabana, the AEW star got into a backstage fight with Omega and the Bucks, also involving Ace Steel.

According to F4WOnline, Punk is “believed to be suspended” following the post-All Out fight.

Regardless of the altercation, the injury necessitates a need for a new plan for the AEW World Championship.

At the start of the September 7 edition of AEW Dynamite, Tony Khan announced that the World Title and World Trios Championships were being vacated, but he never mentioned the former champions nor why the titles were relinquished.

The Elite’s Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks defeated Hangman Page, John Silver and Alex Reynolds of the Dark Order to become the first AEW World Trios Champions at All Out.

Due to Omega and the Bucks also being suspended because of the backstage incident, they were stripped of the Trios Championship which was then won by Death Triangle on Dynamite via a win over Orange Cassidy and Best Friends.

Khan also announced that the next AEW World Champion would be determined in the Grand Slam Tournament of Champions with the finals taking place on September 21 at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam.
