UPDATE: A report on Uproxx is claiming to have spoken with New Japan office sources who say this is a “crazy rumour” and not true. However, it is worth noting that New Japan likely would say this until they were ready to make an official announcement so don’t take it as gospel just yet.

Reports are emerging from Japan that Gedo has stepped down from his position as New Japan Pro Wrestling booker – a role he has held for almost a decade.
Gedo has been widely praised by fans and industry commentators alike for his work in New Japan since becoming the head booker, winning the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Booker of the Year award seven times between 2011-2018.

According to the story, Gedo stepped down prior to Dominion this past weekend. At this time we do not have any word as to why he left the role or about who his replacement will be.
