Report: WWE Changed Plans With Randy Orton Angle

In what was undeniably an awesome angle on this week’s episode of Raw, WWE had Randy Orton attack his two-time Hall of Fame manager, Ric Flair.

Because Ric Flair isn’t cleared to take any bumps right now, WWE used some clever camera work to make it seem as if Randy punted the 71-year-old.

According to Bryan Alvarez on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Live, WWE originally had this angle planned for last week’s show:

“This angle by the way, that you saw with Ric Flair, that angle was supposed to be the week prior. There was that weekend where Vince like threw out the RAW script 8 times and by the time it was time to do the show they have 2 segments — one of them was Randy Orton beats up Ric Flair. By the time the show ended they’d done one of the segments and they ended up doing this segment the week after.”

It has actually been reported that WWE is still considering having Randy Orton become WWE Champion at SummerSlam. You can read more about that by clicking here.
