Many people have speculated that the plan for WrestleMania 37 this year is for Daniel Bryan to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship, but those plans are reportedly not set in stone.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer is reporting that while Daniel Bryan is a potential opponent, another name is being considered for the big WrestleMania match with Reigns:
On Smackdown, Reigns has two different opponents that are being considered so Bryan is not a lock and at least as of this past week, Nakamura was not one of the two under consideration as of last week, even after the gauntlet
Meltzer went on to note that things are even less clear on the Monday Night Raw side right, with there being no firm plans for any of the top title matches heading into WrestleMania:
The reason there has been no television direction for the main matches at Mania and you don’t hear anything about them is because there isn’t any. The only thing we know is the top Raw championship matches are not locked in.
With just over a week until the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, which has major implications for WrestleMania, you’d have hoped that WWE would have a better idea of what they want to do for the biggest show of the year.
