It was recently reported that WWE is discussing a lot of contingency plans for if mandates are issued due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As per PWInsider, coming out of the weekend’s house show loop and TV tapings, a number of talents and staff have tested positive for COVID-19. It was noted that some other stars are waiting for their results, after noting that they felt run down.
This is ahead of WWE’s annual Holiday Tour, which was cancelled last year due to the pandemic. WWE currently has a Madison Square Garden show slated for December 26, set to feature some of the company’s top stars.
It is worth noting that Friday’s Christmas Eve episode of SmackDown will be unaffected by these positive tests, as it was taped following last week’s live show on December 17.
Stamford, CT, where the WWE Headquarters is located, recently reinstated an indoor mask mandate for the third time since the beginning of the pandemic.
We will continue to provide updates on the situation as they become available.
