Rey Mysterio Says Feud With Finn Balor Would Be ‘Something Special’

Rey Mysterio has stated that he hopes to have a singles match with Finn Balor, believing the potential dream match would be ‘something special’.

Speaking with Graham GSM Matthews of Bleacher Report, Mysterio had high praise for Balor, calling the former Universal Champion an incredible talent. Wanting to do battle with Balor one-on-one, Mysterio said:

“You took the name right out of my mouth. “I’ve said it before in the past: Finn Balor is definitely a guy I’d love to step in the ring and do a program with. I think he’s an incredible talent, and I think our styles clash and we’d definitely give [fans] something special to remember.”

While the two stars are yet to face off in singles action, Mysterio and Balor have shared the ring a number of times, notably squaring off during the latter half of the 2018 Royal Rumble match.

On Monday’s (October 25) episode of Raw, Mysterio, Balor, Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins competed in a ladder match for a future shot at the WWE Championship. Rollins ultimately won the bout, before he got confronted by Champion Big E.

Balor also recently teamed with Rey & Dominik Mysterio for WWE house shows. All three performers were moved to Raw in the WWE Draft. The Lucha legend has admitted that it probably would’ve been good if he and Dominik were split up when the rosters were updated.
