WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley has reacted to her Fiancee, AEW star Buddy Matthews’ response to “We Want Mami” chants at a recent event.
At the recent Melbourne Championship Wrestling Anniversary event on February 10, reigning heavyweight champion of the promotion Buddy Matthews would see his over year-long reign come to an end at the hands of fellow Aussie star Slex.
After the match was over however, the Melbourne crowd would start up a chant for another of their own, that being The Eradicator Rhea Ripley.
After growing out a Matthews post-match promo with “We Want Mami” chants, Matthews would issue a perfect response by insisting the crowd stop chanting so he could get back home and spend time with ‘Mami’.
This not only drew cheers from the live audience but also Mami herself, with Ripley posting a pair of love heart emojis in response to a clip of the moment on Twitter.
You can check the clip out for yourself in the embedded tweet down below.
Ripley will soon get the chance to perform in front of her home country on February 24, as she defends her Women’s World Championship against Nia Jax at the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event.
