Ric Flair Reveals Reason WWE Return Is Unlikely WWE

Ric Flair has revealed his working relationship with WWE, revealing that he’s unlikely to be able to return due to his business interests.

In July 2023, the WWE Hall of Famer announced a new energy drink that is “mushroom-infused.”

He has also previously revealed that he would be the face of a venture with Mike Tyson with that range featuring cannabis in a range of edible products.

All this may get in the way of any potential WWE return, a subject Flair touched upon in a conversation with Chris Van Vliet, saying:

“It’s fine. I don’t work for them. I mean, I’m always gonna be indebted and be thankful for the relationship over the years, but when you work with them, you’re pretty much locked up to, you know, to anything, and they have a really tough, enforceable contract, so I wouldn’t be able to do the marijuana.

“I certainly wouldn’t be able to have the energy drink unless I gave them 50% of it or something like that.”

Flair would share his opinion on WWE’s contracts and their control over their stars, adding:

“I mean, you know, and in all fairness, I don’t like that, but I can understand. They’re gonna give you the TV time and help give you the opportunity for yourself to become a star, if you have that star quality, then they deserve to get a part of the money.

“I understand it. I don’t like it, but if it’s only fair and I’ve seen a lot worse situations for people.”

Following Adam Copeland’s AEW debut, Flair also shared a message to the former Edge on social media.

A soundbite featuring Ric Flair from his Jim Crockett Promotions days was used in a recent Doja Cat track.
