Ring of Honor Title Change At Latest TV Tapings (SPOILER)

Ring of Honor held its latest TV taping this past Sunday night, and it featured the ROH World Tag Team Championships changing hands. Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky of SoCal Uncensored defeated defending champions the Briscoe brothers and the Young Bucks in a three-way match to win the titles for the first time.

Former champions Mark and Jay Briscoe were enjoying their ninth reign with the titles, having won them back in March at the 16th Anniversary show. The loss marks the end of their 217-day reign as champions. This win is the first Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championship for Scorpio Sky and the third for Frankie Kazarian. Kazarian had won the titles alongside fellow SCU member Christopher Daniels previously, as the duo then known as the Addiction.SCU also held the Ring of Honor World Six-Man Tag Team Championships earlier this year. The trio had won the titles from the Young Bucks and Hangman Page at the ROH 16th Anniversary show in March, and lost them to the Kingdom just two months later. Those titles are now held by Cody and the Young Bucks.

SoCal Uncensored’s ongoing storyline in Ring of Honor this year has been that Joe Koff is ready to let the group’s contracts expire at the end of the year. SCU’s plan is to hold championships at the end of the year to increase their leverage in their contract negotiations. Now the story will be whether they can hold the ROH World Tag Team Championships until the end of the year.
