Roman Reigns Could Be Major Factor In Naomi & Sasha Banks WWE Future WWE

As you will almost certainly have seen by now, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Naomi both walked out of Monday Night Raw, handing their belts to John Laurinaitis in the process.

WWE has issues a statement on what they say happened, but it appears there are much wider issues than those WWE is claiming.

A Twitter account claiming to be a close friend of Naomi claimed issues between the tag team and WWE have gone back months, and while this account isn’t 100% verified, it appears to be accurate.

Fightful Select (we recommend you sign up as they have all the latest on this) has put out several reports since the pair walked out, with the first being that Banks especially was not happy with the creative plans which were originally in place for last night’s Raw. The match which was originally advertised was a six-pack challenge between Banks, Naomi, Becky Lynch, Asuka, Nikki ASH and Doudrop, but what we actually saw was Asuka vs. Becky Lynch.

Fightful notes the plan was for Naomi to pin Nikki ASH to win the match, but conflicting reports suggest she was actually going to be pinning Banks. We will almost certainly learn more in the coming days about what really happened.

Interestingly, Dave Meltzer has noted on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that Roman Reigns could play a big role in the future of Banks and Naomi, and he has so much backstage influence right now. With Naomi being married to Jimmy Uso, Roman’s cousin, if Roman supports Naomi’s decision, she’ll likely be fine, but if he doesn’t, she could be in serious trouble.

That is just speculation right now, but Roman does definitely have a huge influence, and it’s not the first time we’ve seen a report that his opinion matters a lot in terms of big decision-making.

We will bring you more news as this story continues to develop.
