Roman Reigns has been removed from a number of upcoming WWE TV dates due to not being planned for Night of Champions 2026.

After he won the World Heavyweight Championship from CM Punk at WrestleMania 42, Reigns said that he was done being part-time and was planning on being on WWE TV through the entire summer.

Reigns has appeared on TV consistently since then and will defend the World Title against Jacob Fatu at WWE Backlash on May 9.

However, after previously being advertised for multiple WWE Raw dates through June, Reigns has been removed from those listings on the official WWE Events page.

Dave Meltzer reports in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that he was told the reason Reigns has been removed is that he isn’t planned for the WWE Night of Champions 2026 premium live event that takes place in Saudi Arabia on June 27.

As the report notes, since Reigns isn’t planned for that event, it was decided that there was “no reason” for him to be appearing on TV in the lead-up to it.

Roman Reigns Going Back On His Word?

The problem with this arrangement and Roman Reigns taking time away from WWE TV is that he outright said he wasn’t going to.

While this may be a WWE decision and not a Reigns decision, the fan sentiment is going to be that Reigns lied and went back to being the part-time champion that so many people complained about it in the past.

There are positives – it means it remains special when Reigns returns if his appearances are kept to a minimum, but the issue here is that it directly goes against what he previously said.

WWE may have to manufacture an on-screen reason for Reigns’ absence that makes out like it’s not his fault, whether it be an injury angle or something else.

Reigns is advertised for WWE SummerSlam on August 1 and 2, so it seems he’ll be back in time for the build-up to that.
