Danhausen is looking for a tag team partner at WWE Backlash 2026 for his match against The Miz and Kit Wilson.
Miz and Wilson laid out Danhausen on the latest episode of SmackDown, making it clear he needs some backup heading into Tampa on May 9.
Here are seven names who could potentially team with Danhausen at WWE Backlash.
7. Mr. Iguana
One of the most suggested choices for a partner that could join Danhausen to tangle with The Miz and Kit Wilson is AAA’s Mr. Iguana.
With both featuring full face paint and unique characters, there could certainly be a fun crossover at WWE Backlash between the pair.
Also able to lead to further appearances for Danhausen in AAA, the Very Nice, Very Evil star could bring his merchandise moving powers to the promotion in a new alliance with Iguana and potentially also Iguana’s Mixed Tag Team Champion partner Lola Vice.
6. Joe Hendry
In another combination that could be meme magic, WWE could bring together two of its most viral characters in Joe Hendry and Danhausen.
While they have yet to interact on TV, idea of Hendry choosing to team with Danhausen for this one-off match to be easily written off as a facet of perpetual babyface Hendry’s commitment to fun.
Providing a reason for fan favorite Joe Hendry to take a break from a more serious WWE Raw storyline that seems to be emerging with Logan Paul and The Vision, the duo could be social media magic, even if their partnership only lasts one night.
Hendry does also have pre-existing issues with Miz from John Cena’s retirement show which could come back around as a reason for him to get involved at Backlash.
5. Elton Prince
While Prince Elton suffered a frightening neck injury in May 2025 which has kept him out of action for the year, he could make a surprise return to confront his former Pretty Deadly partner.
Although potentially the most unlikely to truly come to fruition, it would be an enjoyable return and face-off before inevitable reunion.
Kit Wilson has said that if/when Prince does return, Pretty Deadly will reunite, and hopefully that does become a possibility.
Whether it will be as soon as Backlash is unknown as there have been few updates on Prince’s status.
4. Nick Aldis
One of the first names Danhausen encountered in WWE was SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, who Danhausen requested to find him a perfect mentor to guide him to superstardom.
That mentor ended up being The Miz, which didn’t pan out how Danhausen would have liked as Miz rejected the idea and sided with Kit Wilson instead.
Considering it was Aldis who brought them together in the first place, Danhausen might put the blame on Aldis for things not working out, asking him to redeem himself by helping Danhausen score the win against Miz and Wilson at Backlash.
While Aldis would probably be reluctant, the threat of a curse might be enough to convince him.
3. R-Truth
R-Truth and Danhausen have already had numerous backstage interactions on WWE TV, although Truth has often confused Danhausen with Asuka.
Truth is currently one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions with Damian Priest, and they recently retained against The Miz and Kit Wilson thanks to a curse from Danhausen.
Danhausen may want that favor repaid – either in the form of human monies, or Truth giving him a helping hand at Backlash.
Or, Danhausen could simply pretend he’s Priest and tell Truth they have a title defense, and Truth would probably believe him.
2. CM Punk
Perhaps the perfect surprise partner for WWE Backlash to join Danhausen is CM Punk.
Having been part of one of CM Punk’s most endearing moments during his time with AEW, Punk is no stranger to Danhausen’s curse – once selling the curse for so long that there was fan footage of him being stretchered away from the ring – the pair are real life pals that could be dynamite on-screen together.
With Punk not confirmed for anything else at Backlash right now, joining the pair together could see them become the next biggest duo in WWE.
Potentially in line to become tag team champions together on either roster, the recent exodus of teams in WWE could be lining things up for a major change in the direction of the division.
1. Jelly Roll
With WWE seemingly not slowing down on the celebrity involvement, someone that could make his return at Backlash is Jelly Roll.
While he was part of the build-up to Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton at WrestleMania, Jelly Roll also had something of a feud with Kit Wilson on WWE SmackDown.
If Danhausen is looking for someone who shares his dislike for Miz and Wilson, Jelly Roll could be the perfect choice.
Original plans called for Jelly Roll and Cody Rhodes to team up against Randy Orton and Pat McAfee at Backlash, so Jelly was already planning to be part of this show – with those plans now derailed, this could be the ideal spot for him to fill instead.
