It has been reported that the Royal Rumble 2022 pay-per-view may take place later in the WWE calendar than we’re used to.
According to Fightful Select (subscription required), there has been “significant internal discussion” about Royal Rumble 2022 taking place in early February.
This would be the first time that the event would air in the second month of the year, as the annual pay-per-view traditionally takes place in January.
Fightful did note that they reached out to WWE, but haven’t heard back as of writing. It has also been reported that St Louis, Missouri is currently the front-runner to host the show.
WWE has now officially announced that Survivor Series 2021 will take place on November 21 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. It has previously been reported that The Rock will return to WWE at this event, possibly to set up a WrestleMania program.
