Ruby Soho Reveals Original Plans For WWE’s Riott Squad

AEW star Ruby Soho has spoken about the original plans for the Riott Squad faction in WWE with her, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan.

Speaking on Talk Is Jericho, she explained that the faction was only meant to be a short-term thing to introduce them all onto the main roster, but they worked so well together that they stayed together longer than expected.

She said:

“From what I was told, we weren’t supposed to be together for very long. We were supposed to debut together and then kind of split, but they liked us together, and we loved being together. And I think that was one of the things because we didn’t think we were gonna last very long. We didn’t change our individual characters and we just kind of tried to get them to mesh together instead of, oh, we’re gonna try to make each other a faction. We’re like, okay, if we’re gonna get split up, we’re gonna stay who we are. And I think that’s what helped us is we had three individual characters that made sense somehow in a weird way that actually accented each other.”

Soho also said she’d heard Vince McMahon may have seen Suicide Squad, and decided he wanted a faction with a Joker (Soho), a Harley Quinn (Morgan), and a Beast (Logan).

The trio debuted in late 2017 and lasted until 2019 before they were split up, although Soho (then Ruby Riott) and Morgan did later reunite after Logan had been released from the company.

Ruby Soho debuted for AEW at All Out and won the Casino Battle Royale, and will challenge Britt Baker for the Women’s World Championship this coming Wednesday.
