Oh boy.
Twitter account WrestleVotes, which is typically a very reliable source for WWE backstage news (the account correctly stated that Mansoor would win the 50-man battle royal at Super Showdown, for example) has an interesting update on where the current Shane McMahon storyline is going.
They say according to their sources nobody in WWE seems to have an answer as to why Shane is being given such a major push with so much screen time on Raw and SmackDown.
However, their source speculates that the end game of the Shane storyline may well be that he defeats Kofi Kingston to win the WWE Championship!
I’ve asked what the payoff is to this major Shane McMahon push & TV time allotment. No one seems to have a solid answer. One source said he could see (JUST HIS SPECULATION HERE) Shane being the one to defeat Kofi for the title. That would be something.

Now, before we go any further it is important to point out that this is merely speculation from one source within WWE. However, if that is the general mindset behind the scenes then there could be some stock to it.
Given the push Shane has received recently and the bonkers booking in WWE of late, we would not be surprised, especially as WWE has long believed that more McMahons on television is the answer to falling ratings.
Shane has held titles in the past, winning the defunct European and Hardcore titles in the Attitude Era and carrying the SmackDown Tag Team Titles with The Miz earlier this year.
And let’s not forget his status as the “best in the world” following his ludicrous World Cup win at Crown Jewel last year.
If Shane wins the belt he would become the third member of the McMahon family to carry the prize following his father Vince McMahon’s title win in 1999 and brother-in-law Triple H’s multiple reigns as champion between 1999 and 2016.
Please, for the love of wrestling, don’t let this be true!
