Sami Zayn has made his first comments after winning the Undisputed WWE Championship at Night of Champions 2026 today.

Zayn won the main event match for the WWE Title, defeating GUNTHER and defending three-time champion Cody Rhodes.

The win marks the first world title win in WWE for Zayn at his 10th attempt – a statistic that has been played up in a big way for the past couple of years.

Bringing that streak to an end, Zayn spoke directly into the camera before Night of Champions went off the air, saying:

“10 years. 10 years in WWE I’ve been challenging for this championship.

“20 plus years in the game at the highest level. Never got the recognition. 10 plus years chasing this championship. Never got the recognition. I don’t care what happens to me tomorrow, next week, next month, next year.

“Forever, I will be Sami Zayn, WWE Champion.”

Big E Reacts To Sami Zayn’s WWE Championship Win

Former WWE Champion Big E also spoke on the post-show about Zayn’s title win, saying:

“Sami has overcome a lot of nevers. When I was in the locker room for the longest time, we knew who El Generico was, we knew about his work on the indies, but there was always ‘He’s not the WWE mold, ‘he’ll never be signed here.’

“He finally comes to WWE, ‘Ok he’s a good hand, he can put on these great matches in the mid-card, but he’ll never be World Champion.’

“He broke through that glass ceiling that he was butting his head up against for all these years, so many times to finally become WWE Champion.”
