Popular WWE Star Not Traveling To Saudi Arabia For Crown Jewel WWE

Ahead of WWE’s premium-live-event Crown Jewel, WWE stars have made their way to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia in time for the event on November 5.

One popular WWE name will not, however, be making the journey.

As per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Honorary Uce Sami Zayn will not be going to Crown Jewel.

Meltzer reports:

“Sami Zayn is not going to Saudi Arabia because he is Syrian and that was an issue on both sides, both his and Saudi Arabia. Kevin Owens also hasn’t gone in the past for a number of reasons, one of which is loyalty to Zayn.”

Zayn has not been at any of WWE’s previous visits to Saudi Arabia either.

His absence this time around will be interesting for the Bloodline as Roman Reigns takes on Logan Paul to defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

The Honorary Uce has featured in hilarious in-ring spots on recent editions of SmackDown, centering around tensions between himself and Jey Uso.

It will be interesting to see if Sami Zayn’s absence from Crown Jewel will be worked into some sort of angle. It could be addressed on tonight’s November 4 edition of SmackDown, which is of course the day before Crown Jewel.

SmackDown has been pre-taped due to the obvious travel to Saudi Arabia.

Roman Reigns’ opponent, Logan Paul, may have some back-up in the form of his brother, Jake Paul, who is said to be attending.

It was recently reported that WWE is ‘closely monitoring the situation’ and security protocols around the event following threats of an attack against Saudi Arabia.

As of last word, the event is still going ahead. WWE will be giving a press conference via their social media on November 4 at 10am ET.
