Scott Dawson Says WWE Is To Blame For Poor Tag Division

The Revival has never been known as a team to bite their tongues, and the “top guys” have spoken out about WWE’s booking of its tag team division.

Speaking to FOX Sports Australia, Dash Wilder spoke about the duo’s upcoming title defence at WrestleMania against Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder, and his feelings on tag team wrestling in WWE:

“It’s not a ‘bit’ of a lost art. It’s become Atlantis.”

In a more controversial note, his tag team partner Scott Dawson had the following to say about who he thought was to blame:

“This is going to sound terrible, but I kind of blame our company for that. Because the individual stars made so much money, so people had that goal in mind to be an individual star here, and for us we knew that to make the most money, we needed to be a tag team, we needed to be a unit. Collectively we’re individuals but mentally we’re one. That’s how we had to think to make the most money that we could. In the 80s obviously tag team wrestling was huge, then it kind of died off a little bit, then you had Edge and Christian and the Hardys and the Dudleys, even Too Cool and the APA bringing back tag team wrestling, and then it just got lost. I don’t know if it’s because the whole culture of the world is becoming more selfish or what. I’m very proud of what we’ve accomplished and what we’re doing, and that we’ve never had an argument or had selfish ambitions.”

Let’s hope The Revival’s comments blaming WWE for ignoring tag teams doesn’t land them in hot water. WrestleTalk will be providing live coverage for the WrestleMania 35 tonight where Curt Hawkins will be looking to put an end to his 250+ match losing streak by capturing The Revival’s Raw Tag Team Champions.
