Scrapped WWE PLE Name Returning For Special Show

Scrapped WWE PLE Name Returning For Special Show WWE

A scrapped WWE premium live event name is making a return for an upcoming special edition of Raw, as announced on tonight’s show.

There will be a live Raw on January 1, 2024 as announced on tonight’s show as Adam Pearce referenced the ‘Day 1 Raw’ set for three weeks from today.

Day 1 was a PLE that took place on January 1, 2022, and at the time was intended to become a tradition, but didn’t return for a 2023 version.

For the show, a WWE Heavyweight title bout with Drew McIntyre challenging Seth Rollins to start the new year off on a very intriguing foot.

The detail was revealed in a backstage segment featuring Drew McIntyre meeting up with CM Punk for the first time on camera, with McIntyre noting that he didn’t care about Punk’s presence or plans to win the Royal Rumble.

He was singularly focused on finishing his own story and McIntyre made it clear that he doesn’t care about anyone else’s.

Elsewhere on tonight’s Raw for CM Punk, an unfriendly welcome to the brand from Seth Rollins and a lukewarm one from the Judgment Day.

Also, a heartwarming on-screen reunion between CM Punk and Kofi Kingston that included Kingston needing to inform Punk that he was, in fact, no longer Jamaican in a nod to longtime WWE fans.
