Seth Rollins Shares Emotional Video After Bray Wyatt’s Death @WWERollins/WWE

UPDATE: WWE has confirmed tonight’s SmackDown will pay tribute to Bray Wyatt and Terry Funk – more at this link.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has posted an emotional video remembering Bray Wyatt, real name Windham Rotunda, who passed away aged 36 yesterday, August 24.

In the video shared on social media, Rollins said:

“Truth is, I don’t really… I still don’t really know what to say.

“Windham was a… unique cat. He was a simple yet deeply complex individual, and I loved him. I loved him. I loved working with him, but mostly I just loved being around him.

“He was always joyful. Just, these eyes that drew you in and a smile and a laugh and a presence that just made you happy. And… we’re all gonna miss that. I’ve been thinking mostly about his family. His kids.

“And I wanted to, I don’t know if wanted was the right word, I thought about going to SmackDown tonight, but that would entail leaving my family a day early, and I just keep going back to the conversation I had with Windham on the phone when Brodie (Lee) passed a few years ago.

“And I just had called him to check on him, see how he was doing, and he… we talked and he was okay and I was okay and neither of us were really okay, but I just remember, we ended the conversation with ‘I love yous’ and ‘goodbyes’, and he said, I remember this very specifically, he said, ‘You just go hug on that baby girl’, talking about my daughter.

“So I just feel like that’s what I should be doing.

“So, Windham, I love you man. I will miss you, we will all miss you. And I’ll see you down the road hot boy.”

PWInsider reported earlier that Braun Strowman and Cody Rhodes, who of course both had close ties to Wyatt, are being brought into tonight’s SmackDown, but there’s no confirmation on whether they’ll appear on camera.

WWE has not announced anything specific for SmackDown regarding Wyatt’s passing, but we’ll keep you updated.

Rob Fee, who is WWE’s director of long-term creative and worked very closely with Wyatt, tweeted earlier that tonight will be really special.

WWE has added the following note to the item descriptions for Wyatt merch on the WWE Shop website:

In the wake of Bray Wyatt’s death, WWE will donate all net proceeds to support JoJo Offerman and his children.

You can find said merch at this link.

Yesterday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported:

I was given permission to reveal that earlier this year Windham Rotunda (Bray Wyatt) got COVID that exacerbated a heart issues.

There was a lot of positive progress towards a return and his recovery. Unfortunately today he suffered a heart attack and passed away.

Our thoughts and condolences continue to be with Windham Rotunda’s family, friends, and everyone affected by his passing.
