Seth Rollins has addressed Roman Reigns referring to him as ‘number two’ ahead of their WWE SummerSlam clash this Sunday.

What is being teased as the final clash between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns is set to take place this Sunday at SummerSlam in Minneapolis, with Roman’s World Heavyweight Championship on the line.

Over the past few weeks, Rollins and Reigns have played upon their extensive history, with Reigns continuing to refer to Rollins as his ‘number two’ over the years.

Seth Rollins Rebukes ‘Number Two’ Claims

Speaking on ESPN’s First Take, Rollins was asked how he felt about Reigns calling him ‘number two’, with Rollins questioning whether or not Reigns truly believes that.

He said:

“Part of him needs to think that’s the way it is, he needs to believe that. Whether he actually thinks that or not, I don’t know.

“The truth is I’ve had Roman’s number every step of the way. From the moment we came into the Shield where I held his hand, and nursed him along and helped him out and got him to the next level, to every single match we’ve had in a big time moment, I’ve owned him.

“Whether he believes that or not I’m not entirely sure, but he has to tell himself that to be happy with who he is.”

Rollins and Reigns’ World Heavyweight Championship match is set to main event night two of SummerSlam, while CM Punk and Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship match will headline night one.

How Should Seth Rollins Vs. Roman Reigns End?

With Rollins and Reigns’ match set to main event SummerSlam night two, WWE will likely want to nail the finish to the match so as to not leave a bad taste in the mouths of fans to close the second biggest show of the year.

Reigns will almost certainly leave SummerSlam still as World Heavyweight Championship, and with a Bloodline reunion taking place on television right now, WWE must resist the urge to run the tired Bloodline run-in formula to end the match.

Reigns and Punk’s WrestleMania main event is considered one of WWE’s best matches of the year, which ended clean without any outside interference, which is something WWE should aim to repeat with Rollins and Reigns at SummerSlam, as a Bloodline run in ending would likely divide fans.
