Seth Rollins Reveals Whether He Wants To Work With Becky Lynch On-Screen Again

Seth Rollins has revealed whether he ever wants to work with his real-life wife Becky Lynch on-screen in WWE again.

They notably worked a string of mixed tag team matches together in July 2019 against Mike & Maria Kanellis, Andrade & Zelina Vega, and Baron Corbin & Lacey Evans.

However, they drifted back apart and Rollins later turned heel, and they didn’t team together again before Becky Lynch was taken out of action from April 2020 due to her pregnancy.

Speaking on Sports Media with Richard Deitsch, Rollins explained that he’s not a fan of the idea of them going back to being an on-screen pairing. He said:

“We tried to make the best of it, but I don’t think either of us were terribly comfortable with it. Even though we have incredible chemistry as people, as performers, our characters never really vibed on-screen. It’s one of those things where, if she comes back, we’ll stay away from it and won’t touch on it. If something calls for it and we’re in the same segment or story, you can’t pretend like it doesn’t exist. It’s not possible, we’re too high profile for that, but if we’re in two separate places, then no-one thinks about it now.

“I’ve had to think about it because now that crowds are back, I’ll get ‘We want Becky’ chants. I don’t know how to navigate that. I’m not exactly sure why people think that’s an insult to me. ‘Yeah, my wife is awesome and great. I get why you want her instead of me. I’m also a bad guy’. I don’t know where the insult comes here. If it happens, how am I supposed to react to that and what am I supposed to say? Luckily, I haven’t had to address it yet, but it doesn’t hurt my feelings.”

The “We want Becky” chants are largely due to fans’ knowledge that she’s currently in training for a return and has been backstage at many shows recently, and will be for SummerSlam too.

At SummerSlam, Seth Rollins is in action against Edge, so maybe we’ll hear the chant again, or maybe the match itself will divert attention away from Lynch, and Rollins and Edge will be able to draw everyone back into themselves, much like Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley managed to do at Money in the Bank.
