Several Surprises Enter Women’s Royal Rumble

The Royal Rumble is always newsworthy for returns and surprises in the rumble matches themselves. It didn’t take long for our first surprise of the night.

Naomi returned as the number 2 entrant in the Women’s Royal Rumble. Naomi was opposite Bayley who was entrant number 1 in the match.

We had not seen Naomi since the August 21, 2020 beat the clock challenge where she beat Bayley on SmackDown.

The next major return was Jillian Hall. Jillian was a former champion and sang her way down to the ring. It was only the second-worst singing performance of the night. Jillian was eliminated by Billie Kay.

It didn’t take long for another surprise. Victoria enters the rumble. The Black Widow herself enters and was eliminated in vicious style by Shayna Baszler.

We went several entrants before any major surprises came out. However, at number 17 we got the ageless wonder, Torrie Wilson. She somehow looks the same age as she did 20 years ago. She also was eliminated by Baszler.

At number 21, Alicia Fox comes out. She dances her way down to the ring. R-Truth follows her down and Alicia Fox fusses at him. The 24/7 hunt comes down to the ring and Fox gets tossed into the ring ropes. She botches her first move. However, she somehow wins the 24/7 championship only to lose it after she gets eliminated very quickly.

While not a legend, we get a big return next. Lana has returned to the Royal Rumble. She didn’t look too thrilled to be there. She did get some payback as she eliminated Nia Jax. However, Nattie eliminated Lana after pretending to be her friend.

None of those women won the rumble. Those were the major surprises. There were a few NXT entrants as well. Those NXT entrants included Rhea Ripley, Ember Moon, Shotzi Blackheart, Dakota Kai, Santana Garrett, and Toni Storm.

Ripley lasted until the final two. She ultimately was eliminated by the winner Bianca Belair.
