Several championship matches have been announced for the next NJPW Wrestle Grand Slam show on September 5.
NJPW has announced that in the main event of the September show, Shingo Takagi will defend the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against EVIL.
Takagi successfully defended the gold for the first time during the July 25 Wrestle Grand Slam event against Hiroshi Tanahashi.
Also announced, Hiromi Takahashi will challenge new IWGP Jr Heavyweight Champion Robbie Eagles for his title. Takahashi recently revealed that he had been medically cleared to return to action following a pectoral injury he suffered in February.
Zack Sabre Jr & Taichi of Dangerous Tekkers will also defend their IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship in a three-way match at the upcoming event. The champions will be challenged by Tetsuya Naito & SANADA of Los Ingobernables de Japon, and YOSHI-HASHI & Hirooki Goto.
During the July 25 show, Zack Sabre Jr pinned Naito to win the tag title after almost 40 minutes of action.
