A memorial tournament for the late WWE Hall of Famer Shad Gaspard has been announced for April 20, 2024.
On what would’ve been his 43rd birthday, Gaspard’s former colleague in WWE Elijah Burke made a special announcement via a video uploaded to his Instagram account.
Burke announced that this Spring, there would be an eight man tournament held in memoriam of Gaspard, with the winner receiving the Shad Gaspard Memorial Cup.
Burke’s post read:
History is about to be made as The Love-Alive Charity honor WWE Hall Of Famer, Shad Gaspard.
Mark your calendars and be sure to join us on April 20th for the Inaugural Shad Gaspard Memorial Cup where 8 men will compete for the Beast Award.
Gaspard passed away on May 17, 2020 in a tragic drowning incident where he heroically saved the life of his young son.
He was later honored with a posthumous induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2022 where he received the Warrior Award.
You can view Burke’s announcement video along with the post down below.
No further details were given regarding the tournament itself or potential participants but make sure to stay tuned for updates as and when they become available.
