Shawn Michaels has teased that a pair of main roster stars will return to NXT and it is ‘only a matter of time’. Find out who!
Find out which pair of recent NXT call ups Shawn Michaels recently pledged would at some point be returning to NXT.
After Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre were called up to the main roster, it left some confusion around the future of the NXT titles they currently hold.
Still holding the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships while on SmackDown, Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre have already made a splash, defeating NXT team Valentina Feroz and Yulisa Leon.
However it is only a matter of time before they’ll need to come back to NXT to defend the titles says Shawn Michaels in a media call today in advance of NXT’s upcoming premium live event, NXT Battleground.
Michaels said:
“We certainly hope to. I believe, at this point, they’ve had an appearance on SmackDown, obviously representing NXT as the Women’s Tag Team Champions. I would imagine, right now their focus is defending those titles there, but I will say that I think it’s only a matter of time before they’re going to have to come back here and defend those championships. Right now, with the call ups just happening, their focus is going to be up there and seeing where being the NXT tag team champions can take them in respect to the women’s tag team competition on Raw and SmackDown.”
The card for NXT Battleground on Sunday, May 28 is as follows:
NXT Championship – Carmelo Hayes (c) vs. Bron Breakker
NXT Women’s Championship – Lyra Valkyria vs. Tiffany Stratton
Heritage Cup Championship – Noam Dar (c) vs. Dragon Lee
NXT Tag Team Championship – Mark Coffey & Wolfgang (c) vs. Brutus & Julius Creed
North American Championship – Wes Lee (c) vs. Joe Gacy vs. Tyler Bate
Last Man Standing – Dijak vs. Ilja Dragunov
