Shawn Michaels Addresses The Use Of Superkicks In Pro Wrestling WWE

Shawn Michaels has addressed the use of superkicks in pro wrestling.

The superkick has become one of the prevalent moves in the professional wrestling business today.

From The Young Bucks and Adam Cole to The Usos and Dolph Ziggler, there are so many wrestlers who use the superkick as a main part of their arsenals.

Speaking with Culture State, WWE’s Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels discussed his influence on the business and the use of the superkick. He said:

“It’s humbling. This business has been so good to me and so, this is my way of being able to give back. I take it as a compliment.”

“I remember when I broke in the wrestling business, you know, a lot of the old-timers, you know, said, ‘Imitation is, you know, the sincerest form of flattery.'”

“That is certainly the way that I take it … I appreciate the fact that something that I did has had an appeal and a positive effect on this business.”

Shawn Michaels used a version of the superkick called “Sweet Chin Music” to win four world championships and was inducted into the 2011 class of the WWE Hall of Fame.

HBK now heads up the NXT brand as WWE’s Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative.
