A top WWE star has discussed the importance of their Fastlane match, calling it one of the biggest of his career.
Speaking with Steve Fall of Wrestlingnews.co, The King of Strong Style Shinsuke Nakamura was asked a number of questions, many relating to his current run in WWE, that has seen him elevated to the main event picture, chasing his first-ever WWE world championship.
After failing to capture the World Heavyweight Championship from Seth Rollins at WWE Payback 2023, Nakamura once again steps up to the Architect at Fastlane, this time in a Last Man Standing match.
When asked whether Fastlane is his ‘WrestleMania’, Nakamura answered:
“I’m gonna put everything into the match. Of course. I’m gonna put everything, what I can do (tonight).
“Not kind of, it’s one of the biggest matches of my career. I forgot about the past, I need to focus now.”
Across seven years in WWE, Nakamura has captured almost every championship available to him as well as winning the 2018 Royal Rumble, however he has yet to hold a world title in WWE.
It remains to be seen whether Fastlane will in fact be Nakamura’s crowning moment, however, given the story WWE have been telling with Seth Rollins’ injured back, it certainly is a strong possibility.
