Spoiler On Big Match Set For AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023? AEW

Tonight’s April 14 edition of AEW Rampage will see a bit of NJPW crossover with AEW as the brand new IWGP Tag Champions Aussie Open make their first defence of their titles against the Best Friends Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor.

While Aussie Open are no strangers to AEW TV, last appearing on Rampage on March 3, this is their first appearance while carrying IWGP gold.

AEW would unsurprisingly send out a tweet to hype Aussie Open’s first defence on Rampage, however their choice of image was quite interesting indeed.

While promoting Aussie Open’s match they would also simultaneously promote the appearance of also brand new AEW Tag Champions FTR, who are set to address their title win on the same show.

So, in light of the two teams being on the same show AEW would tweet a picture of Aussie Open face to face with FTR with both teams holding up their respective tag title gold.

And if this wasn’t enough of a tease, the NJPW Twitter account would respond with some choice emojis, hinting that this pairing is worth keeping an eye on.

While the second instalment of AEW and NJPW’s Forbidden Door is still two months away, could we have perhaps have gotten our first hint at one of the matches on the card?

FTR vs Aussie Open isn’t the only match that could make it’s way onto the card, with Kenny Omega’s opponent for the event also potentially revealed.
