There has been a potential spoiler on a return planned to take place on tonight’s WWE SmackDown New Year’s Revolution show.
Former Raw Tag Team Champions Akam and Rezar of the Authors of Pain have reportedly been signed to WWE for over a year, but have yet to make their return to WWE television.
That changed on the December 22 episode of SmackDown, when the two, as well as their former manager Paul Ellering, appeared in a vignette featuring Karrion Kross and Scarlett, seemingly setting up an alliance.
It had previously been reported that AoP were set to return on tonight’s New Year’s Revolution episode of SmackDown, and that has seemingly been confirmed.
Per PWInsider, WWE Hall of Famer Paul Ellering has been spotted in Vancouver, the site of tonight’s SmackDown show, seemingly adding fuel to the fire that he and AoP will be returning on the show.
Tonight’s show will feature Randy Orton, LA Knight and AJ Styles facing off in a three-way to determine Roman Reigns’ challenger for the Royal Rumble.
Also on the show is IYO SKY defending the WWE Women’s Championship against Michin, as well as Kevin Owens and Santos Escobar facing off in the final of the United States Championship tournament.
Another former WWE star may be on their way back to the company soon, which you can see here.
