Sting Trying To Get Darby Allin To Be A Part Of Great Muta’s Last Match AEW

Japanese wrestling legend the Great Muta made his first appearance for AEW back at the AEW Grand Slam episode of Rampage, aiding Sting in his and Darby Allin’s tag team match against Brody King and Buddy Matthews of the House of Black.

It was announced shortly after Muta and Sting’s interaction that Sting would be a part of The Great Muta’s final match in January as part of a NOAH show in Yokohama, Japan.

Sting recently spoke about the match to Sports Illustrated, in which he spoke about being honored about being part of Muta’s last match, and how he is looking to make the most of the rest of his career.

He said:

“I know my days are numbered, so I’m trying to make the most out of the time left and give the fans everything I have before this wave comes into shore for good. I’m grateful that Muta was able to be here with me in the United States. That’s a memory I’m going to hold onto, and it signifies the end of our era. I’m looking forward to having one last grand hoorah with The Great Muta, especially in Japan.”

Sting is currently aligned with Darby Allin on AEW television, and Sting spoke about how he is hoping to bring Darby with him to Japan for the show.

He said:

“I’m trying to get Darby Allin to come with me. It’s such an honor, especially since that will be his last night as The Great Muta character.”

Darby Allin is set to go one on one with Jay Lethal on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
