The wrestling world was shocked this week on AEW Dynamite when WCW icon Sting debuted for the promotion. It was later revealed that he’d signed a multi-year deal with the company.
Sting was released from his WWE deal earlier this year in May, with his merchandise being taken down from WWE Shop last month. This led to people speculating that he’d be debuting for AEW at Full Gear.
WrestleTalk’s Louis Dangoor can now exclusively reveal that Sting was unhappy with how WWE treated him during his time with the company. We were also told that he joined AEW to do “something good” for the fans for his final full-time gig.
This comes after it was reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Sting had a strong desire to have a cinematic match with The Undertaker in WWE, something that didn’t come to fruition.
Despite the fact that he is expected to be a full-time regular character on Dynamite, Sting will reportedly not be taking any bumps during his run with AEW because of his history with neck issues and his spinal stenosis.
