Sting Releases Unseen Backstage Footage From AEW Retirement AEW

Sting’s storied wrestling career came to an end on March 3 ending his AEW career on an undefeated high at AEW Revolution.

The recent Greensboro, North Carolina PPV has been revealed to be a live gate, merch and buy rate success for AEW.

Sting has now reflected on the night, sharing photos and videos from backstage.

Posting on Twitter, the undefeated former AEW World Tag Team Champion said:

“I had hoped #AEWRevolution would be a memorable night for the fans, but it was a night that I personally will never forget.

“Thank you to all the wrestlers. Thank you to all the @AEW staff. Thank you to Greensboro. And thank you to the fans, one and all!”

As can be seen in the tweets below this news story, he would share a video of himself, alongside Tony Khan, Ric Flair and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, with Steamboat noting:

“You’ve got 150 years of experience here.”

There would also be photos of Sting with Lex Luger and, separately, Diamond Dallas Page.

The second tweet of the three-tweet thread featured a video of Sting, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Darby Allin and Ric Flair sporting the familiar black baseball bat for the cameras.

There’s also a photo of Sting and Adam Copeland both caught laughing in mid-conversation, the same happening in a photo with Chris Jericho.

The final tweet of the thread has a video featuring Eddie Kingston thanking Sting for everything he’s done in wrestling, saying:

“I want to say thank you from me because when I was a kid, you pulled me in, bro. You and Ric together, all of this, the nWo, all this stuff, pulled me in, bro.

“And, you’re a pro to the end and I can only hope that… people respect me the way that they respect you.”

The tweet also featured a video of the fans at AEW Revolution sharing their appreciation for Sting as he worked the crowd and a photo of Sting and long-time rival, Ric Flair, together.

On the Monday, March 4 episode of WWE Raw, Sting’s final match was mentioned on commentary, with Tony Schiavone commenting on the nod recently.
