A surprise Bryan Danielson match was announced including members of the AEW roster for an upcoming Ring of Honor (ROH) pay-per-view.
Appearing on Ring of Honor on Honor Club, the ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta and Bryan Danielson made an announcement about Final Battle 2023.
Danielson noted that Final Battle as an event has meant so much to him over his career but this year was particularly special.
Noting that in 2003 he wrestled Jay Briscoe and last year’s Final Battle was Briscoe’s last match in Ring of Honor, so he had a challenge to make in honor of Jay.
Danielson went on to announce a very special match for the show, which is set for December 15.
Danielson proposed the Blackpool Combat Club take on AEW stars FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) and Mark Briscoe.
The match was yet to be formally accepted, but the nature of it points to it being made official very soon.
Already set for action at Final Battle, Athena puts her ROH Women’s World Championship on the line against Billie Starkz.
Also, Shane Taylor is set to face off against Keith Lee, and there’ll be a six-person match to determine the next ROH TV Champion after that title was vacated by Samoa Joe.
